Wisdom of Nature was founded in 2005 in the sunny region of Nemea, Southern Greece, not far from the country’s capital, Athens.
With eight hectares of organically grown vineyards, the company specialises in grape based organic products.
The main raw material used is a red wine grape variety called Agiorgitiko.
The company’s star products are the Agiorgitiko and Roditis grape vinegars. A variety of unique blends of aromatic types of balsamic vinegar and the company’s proprietary grape syrup, a sweetener that is 100% natural.
The award-winning goods produced by Wisdom of Nature are organic, without any additives or preservatives, and certified to the highest levels of quality assurance systems.
For more than a decade, the company has established itself as a leader in its field on the European market and is exporting to 15 other countries worldwide.
The next natural step was for the company to set its target on new prospective markets, where the demand lacks serious offer.
Such an interest was found on the Korean market.
With increasingly health-conscious buyers, Korea was the ideal market for Wisdom of Nature to tackle.
When EU Gateway | Business Avenues organized the Organic Food & Beverage business mission in South Korea in October 2017, the Greek company applied without hesitation, with expansion goals in mind.
Up to that date, we did not have a business relationship with anyone in Korea. Because we knew that the Korean people are interested in vinegars and that they use vinegars in their kitchen a lot, we defined Korea as a target market for our expansion to Asia. – Dominik Brun, Sales & Marketing Manager, Wisdom of Nature (Greece)
During the five-day business mission week, the Greek company had numerous one-on-one pre-arranged business meetings with key actors in the Organic Food & Beverage sector in Korea.
After the mission, Wisdom of Nature remained in contact with the companies it met during the mission and decided to pursue a collaboration with the Korean company Yuhan.
During the business mission, we had about 16 B2B meetings and one company, in particular, came well prepared for the meeting. – Dominik Brun, Sales & Marketing Manager, Wisdom of Nature (Greece)
After receiving vinegar samples from Wisdom of Nature, in the spring of 2018, Yuhan placed an order for 10 pallets worth of products, which included three different types of vinegar.
A second order followed shortly after when Yuhan placed an order of another 13000 bottles of two types of organic vinegars.
Following the sequential orders, Wisdom of Nature signed an exclusivity partnership with the Korean company.
Following this astounding success, Wisdom of Nature is interested in participating in other future business missions organized by EU Gateway | Business Avenues, in order to reinforce and continue its expansion in Asia.
This is our first business collaboration in Asia and it had a severe impact on our growth in 2018. We are looking forward to participating in other EU Gateway | Business Avenues missions in order to expand further and on other Asian markets. – Dominik Brun, Sales & Marketing Manager, Wisdom of Nature (Greece)
