Singapore has managed to build one of the most competitive global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industries, and the country is the recognised ICT hub in South East Asia. The sector is estimated to have revenues of around S$ 190 billion, with exports accounting for around 70% of revenues.
The Infocomm Media 2025 plan – the government’s 10-year ICT masterplan – identifies six key technology areas that present opportunities for growth in Singapore: big data and analytics; the internet of things industry; future communications; cybersecurity; intensive media; cognitive computing and advanced robotics.
The e-commerce market in Singapore is expected to grow to US$ 5.4 billion by 2025, and e-commerce would make up 6.7% of all retail in Singapore, making it an attractive option for European ICT companies seeking to test the market.
EU Gateway | Business Avenues is an EU funded programme that helps European companies establish long-lasting business relationships in Asia. Selected companies participate in a one week business mission, where they benefit from pre-arranged meetings with potential business partners, and the opportunity to showcase their products and technologies during a two-day exhibition. Before the business mission takes place, companies receive market intelligence, advice on approaching the market, and business coaching.
From 25 – 30 June 2018, EU Gateway | Business Avenues takes selected European companies to Singapore & Thailand for a EU-funded business mission on Information & Communication Technologies. If your company meets the eligibility criteria, apply online by 9 March 2018.
