Although the EU Gateway Programme does not require that applicants have basic experience with the Japanese market, we strongly recommend that the companies that apply have an idea about their business potential in Japan and Korea. Read more about the market and opportunities in Korea here.The EU Gateway Programme’s aim is to assist potentially interested EU companies to develop a strategy upfront, to check the feasibility of their strategy during real business-to-business meetings with companies in Japan and Korea, and to adjust their strategy whenever needed based on the experience gained during these meetings.
How do I apply for an EU Gateway business mission?
Applying for a business mission is easy and all forms are completed and submitted online in 4 steps:
1. Fill out and submit the Expression of Interest Form.
2. After the Expression of Interest Form is received, an EU Gateway Coach will contact you. If your Coach finds your company eligible for participation, he will give you a personal login and password which will give you access to the Application Form.
3. Please use your login and password to enter the Application Form.
4. Fill out and submit the Application Form.

Can I participate multiple times in the EU Gateway Programme?
Yes, a company can participate in a maximum of 3 business missions to Japan and a maximum of 3 business missions to Korea. In total, a company can participate in 6 EU Gateway Programme business missions.
